About Us

Skyfolk – the story so far

Hi, we’re Sara and Don, Cork-born siblings, co-founders, and the team behind Skyfolk.

After spending most of our adult lives abroad, we returned home to raise our families and found ourselves searching for artwork that captured Ireland the way we remembered it: wide, open, grounding, and deeply familiar. Nothing ever felt quite right, so in 2020 we began creating it ourselves.

Skyfolk started with a simple idea, to capture Ireland from above in a way that feels modern and nostalgic all at once. Our aerial prints showcase the extraordinary open spaces of Ireland: beaches, islands, forests and coastlines seen from a new perspective, but tied to old memories.

Each piece is our contemporary take on an ancient landscape. A small piece of home, wherever in the world you hang it.

We’re proud members of Design Ireland, recognised for Irish-made craft and design, and proud that our prints now live in homes near and far.

Skyfolk has been featured in The Irish Times, RTÉ Lifestyle Magazine, The Irish Examiner, House and Home, Yay Cork and more.

Materials

Every Skyfolk print is made to order with our local print partner in Cork. We use Hahnemühle Photo Rag 308gsm, a museum-quality fine art paper, paired with archival pigment inks to create prints that are built to last a lifetime.

Packaging

Supporting Irish suppliers matters to us, so we’ve sourced our packaging locally wherever we can. Our artwork boxes and postal tubes are fully recyclable, and we wrap each print in natural Kraft paper, a sustainable, biodegradable alternative to plastic padding.
We use compostable eco fill made from local-grade starch that dissolves in water, and we’re always working to make our packaging even kinder to the environment.
